Brett and I met in college. We’re both Type 1 diabetics, which brought us together in college.

We credit my cousin Sami Jo with getting us together “officially” when she was about 7 years old.

Sami: What do you call a boy, that comes over, watches movies and holds your hand?

Me: I dunno. What?

Sami: Your boyfriend! Duh!

When Brett heard this he thought she had a good point.

After four years of dating, Brett proposed and we were married in my hometown church  amidst our friends and family.

We continue to grow closer together as we navigate the paths of life. We enjoy many hobbies together and look forward to growing a family through adoption.
